It is with heavy hearts that, due to the Coronavirus, we are announced the cancellation of our April 3-4, 2020 performances of 'Mannequin Man by Day, Tenor by Night'. The health of our community is our number one concern at this time. We are working with Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts to reschedule this beautiful show for a later date and ticketholders will be notified of those decisions as they are being made. Synopsis
Mannequin Man by Day, Tenor by Night, is an intriguing new musical about protagonist James, who struggles to balance his artistic passions with his family responsibilities. James designs and sells mannequins by day and practices his opera by night. Even though James has always put his family duty first, his passionate desire for a musical career starts to turn into an obsession. On his 30th wedding anniversary, James is at home practicing for an upcoming vocal competition instead of paying attention to his wife, Lily. When his loud operatic ballads annoy the whole family, Lily throws him out. He decides to live at his warehouse, where his magician neighbor, who has his eye on James’ neglected wife, turns the mannequins to life to becomes James’ adoring audience. As James’ singing drastically improves, his life begins to spiral out of control...
Lily is convinced by the magician to be turned into a special 'yoga' mannequin so she can sneak into the warehouse to see what her husband is up to. Mannequin Lily wins first prize in the warehouse talent show and James seems to notice something familiar in this mannequin and yearns to be reunited with his wife. However, he accidentally sells the special mannequin to his most persnickety customer and ships Lily on a flight to New York. Get your tickets today to find out what happens next!
